Al Marakeb Football Fundraiser 2011
Al Marakeb Boat Manufacturing Company hosted its 2nd annual football tournament this year in collaboration with the Palestinian Children Relief Fund organisation [PCRF], providing a fun day on the field whilst raising donations and awareness for the needy children of Palestine.
The two day event saw over two hundred participants and spectators, and was supported by sixteen sponsors, all eager to contribute towards the cause.
The event was hosted by Al Marakeb Boats, and with the help of friends, sponsors, families, and players, managed to raise funds and donate a charitable amount to the Palestinian Children Relief Fund [PCRF.net] which will go towards building and development of the Beit Jala Cancer Department in Al Hussein hospital, Beit Jala, Palestine.
Members of the PCRF managed to attend, bringing along two of their recipient children from Gaza, Odai and Bisan, who are currently being treated in the UAE, and participated in the festivities of the event.
“An overall fun and successful event was easy to organize thanks to everyone’s eagerness to help out. I would also like to thank Merill Sammour, a high-school senior who’s idea it was to collaborate with PCRF, and I hope she goes on to inspire children of the upcoming generation to contribute towards such causes.
The real gratitude however goes to organizations such as the PCRF, whose wonderful efforts change these children’s lives tremendously.”
